I'm gonna walk the world with a smile on my face and a pair of high heels on my feet.

Jerica + 5 Invade NYC Thursday, October 27, 2011 12:14 PM
It's my third time to visit NYC and surprisingly, I didn't go there during winter (I love snow, but I hate it when it's too cold)! However, it is the first time that TR is not paying for my NYC trip. And this trip made me realize how costly it is to live in NYC! It was a short trip, but it was fun to spend it with family!

And here's a shot at our first lunch at New York City baby!
DAY 1: We then headed to Ground Zero since it is the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attack, sadly it is not open for public viewing. Instead, we walked around the area and took some pictures. Mom finally saw my office and Millenium Hilton where I usually stay.

And our next stop is Central Park Conservatory Garden where we took lovely pictures.

Since we don't have much time to spend in this very busy city, we then headed to Empire State Building. It is my first time to go there and get a view of the city from the 86th floor of ESB. It was nice to visit ESB on such day and see the building light up with red, blue and white hues in honor of the victims of 9/11. My cousin, Camille and I also tried the Sky Ride. It was like the ride Soarin' at Epcot and the only difference is that you'll see New York City. It costs much and I don't feel it was worth the price. The next time I'll visit NYC, what I wanted to try is the 25-minute helicopter tour of the Big Apple (I can feel it'll be AWESOME!).

We were starving and was looking around the area to find a place to eat... and then there's Bon Chon right across ESB! I've heard so much of Bon Chon, but never tried it. That night was just the lucky night! It was indeed delicious!! I love chicken wings and I love Bon Chon!

And we just have to walk around to buy some pasalubongs and we are just in the perfect spot, Fifth Avenue!! Don't get your hopes high, we didn't shop at Gucci and the like... we just shopped around at some souvenir shops hahaha!

After shopping, it was in my itinerary to go to Serendipity Cafe. We were looking for cabs when a man in a limo called our attention. He charges $40 flat rate and he'll take us to Serendipity, who wouldn't grab that chance to ride a limo and feel like a cast from Gossip Girl?!? I was dreaming that I was in a limo with Chuck Bass hahaha! And we reached our destination and even got a chance to take pictures with the white limo (how cool is that?).

And finally, they get to try the famous Frozon Hot Chocolate. There was one thing I didn't like at Serendipity, a person should order a minimum amount of $8.50, WTH?! And since we are already seated, we were left with no choice. We were still full, but the food we ordered are still heavenly sinful!!

With a full eyes and stomach, we called it a day and headed back to our hotel, Belvedere Hotel.

DAY 2: First thing in the morning, we headed to Battery Park where the Statue Cruises port is. The ferry will take us to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It was indeed a very nice day to go to the 2 islands, it's a sunshiney day! Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close is breath taking!

After the trips to the island, we went back to Battery Park to eat some hotdogs!

Since we are already at downtown NY, it was my chance to show them Century 21 and spend some cash!

I had to go back to the hotel and change 'cause I'm not in my casual-corporate look (I'm wearing shorts and I can't go to 195 Broadway wearing that!). I am meeting my NY friends a.k.a. colleagues for dinner and I'm also getting my new Blackberry Bold. Along with the 2 boys named Rich and Doug, we went to Blue Smoke earlier than the others for our reservation. We took the subway and I had an epic experience. I slide myself into a closing subway door with 2 guys holding the door so that I won't be left behind. We all got cursed! Hahaha! Whenever I'm with them, I never fail to bring back home awesome memories! At dinner, it was nice to catch up with everyone over drinks and ribs!

And here's a snapshot of CMC's ribfest!!!

After dinner, I decided to visit Tish at their unit. I wanted to see her since she always try her best to spend time with me whenever I'm in the city. Chris was really proud of their place and so I wanted to see it. He has the rights to. It was awesome. I really liked their balcony 'cause you got a very beautiful view. Upon leaving, my mind was wondering how much their rent costs?! Hahahaha

While I was having dinner with my friends, my family were enjoying Times Square. Times Square is still my favorite place in NYC. I got to get lost at Times Square for a couple of minutes and I enjoyed it! Too bad Top of the Rock closes at 11pm and we didn't get a chance to get up and get another magnificent view of the city. We just roamed around and took pictures at Rockefeller Center. I was kinda surprised to not see the skating rink at Rockefeller Center. Everytime I go to NYC, it always falls on winter season and this time was the first time to experience it during fall and with no skating rink. And after a few walks and tons of pictures, we called it a night.

Day 3: We conquered Chinatown! I felt like I was transported back to Divisoria or 168. It pretty much looked alike and a place where you can haggle to get the price you want. As much as I want to go to Brooklyn and taste the famous Grimaldi's pizza, we had to go back to the hotel to check out. I crushed my heart 'cause I really wanna walk down the Brooklyn Bridge and taste a true brooklyn pizza... next time! After checking out, we walked down Times Square to have lunch and splurge a little more. It was my first time to see Times Square at day time and I was disappointed that it didn't look as magical as it is at night time. And there's one place where kids and grown-ups alike will love, M&M World! I really love that place! There's M&M all over the place. And here are a couple of snapshots...

After my New York Trip, I went home with an empty wallet, but with a pocket full of memories!
